SARASOTA, Fla. – Jan. 26, 2021 – Lighthouse Vision Loss Education Center, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that educates and empowers those affected by vision loss in Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte, DeSoto and Highlands Counties, announces a new partnership with The Louis and Gloria Flanzer Philanthropic Trust (Flanzer Trust) Contribution Matching Program in 2021.

The Flanzer Trust launched its inaugural Contribution Matching Program in January 2020 and recently announced that it sent $3.145 million to agencies in Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte and DeSoto Counties, matching $1,572,713 in contributions from 6,500 donors. The Lighthouse is honored to be named as one its newest partners.

Contributions to the Lighthouse, between $5 and $500 made through the Flanzer Trust will be matched 1:1 and will support the programs and services provided to help empower and promote independence for individuals living with vision loss. Lighthouse provides thousands of training hours to more than 500 children, teens, adults and seniors each year in mobility and white cane training, adjustment to vision loss courses, daily living skills, assistive technology classes, job employment services, transition programs for teens and young adults, and more.
