New Crossing Signal in Avon Park

Lighthouse Vision Loss Education Center clients and staff recently met with a representative from the Florida Department of Transportation in Avon Park, Florida. The purpose of this meeting was to submit an application to FDOT and discuss the installation of an audible pedestrian crossing signal at the downtown intersection of Main Street and Lake Avenue. This would be the first signal of its kind to be installed in Avon Park.

March is Workplace Eye Wellness Month

Remember that something as simple as putting on a pair of safety glasses can help prevent serious eye injuries in the workplace. These injuries are not only painful, but they can cause many lost days of work and sometimes lead to permanent vision loss. Although March is designated as Workplace Eye Wellness Month, it is important to remember to wear your safety glasses year round.

March Madness Is Here

Join us for the month of March for our daily online sessions and clubs. Everyone is welcomed to learn a new skill or participate in a club in order to enter into the March Madness drawing (one entry per session attended). At the end of the month, three winners will be chosen in a random drawing. You do not have to be present at the drawing to win. The more sessions you attend, the greater your chances are to win.
